? You ask – we Answer • I own an old Fleetline caravan and I’m am currently considering converting it so that I have more modern power options. Alternatively, I’m considering having a rooftop tent installed on my 4x4, but what do I do if I get to places in the bundu where there is no power? What do I need to power my freezer and lights – a converter, battery, solar panel? You’d think so, but for Nolene Kotze, who runs the Chasing Gravel platform for curated off-road adventures and various activities and tours in Namibia, this was part of the appeal.
Mystical mabua • For George van Deventer of Trans Africa Safari Self Drive Adventures and Tours, Mabuasehube is a magical place filled with memories. The perfect place to recharge far off the beaten track.
Trans Africa Tour Focus: Richtersveld • George and Marlene van Deventer from Trans Africa Self Drive Adventure and Tours pride themselves on offering experiences with a difference, often venturing off the beaten track. One of the highlights on their remaining 2022 calendar is the “Wild Side of Richtersveld” tour, taking place during September.
The running of "The Rhino" • It was to be a fantastic adventure, with many destinations. The choice of vehicle would make or break it, writes Clifford Roberts.
Behind the wheel: Nissan Navara Pro-2x
The challenge continues… • Much more than “just another mountain pass tour”, the annual Ben 10 Eco Challenge gives adventurers a sense of achievement and bragging rights for those successfully completing it. For Trygve Roberts, of Mountain Passes South Africa, this annual trek is a highlight on his calendar.
