HABITUS has always stood ahead of the rest with a dedicated Kitchen and Bathroom issue of exemplar standards. For issue 60 we have taken it up a notch with our Guest Editor the extraordinary, queen of kitchen design, Sarah-Jane Pyke of Arent&Pyke, speaking directly to Kitchen and Bathroom design with some increadable insights. For many of us the Kitchen and Bathroom are the most important rooms within the home. The kitchen is where we gather and create family moments, whether that is an extended traditional family or any iteration of the modern family. In all cases, it is where food and sustenance nourish our world and excellent design provides both function and an aesthetic mirror to our aspirational self. The bathroom is almost the counterpoint as a place of sanctuary, reflection and calm repose. It is where our inner voice can speak clearly and without an audience, which in many ways makes bathroom design the most important reflection of our inner-selves.
